As part of our commitment to the people who make our industry possible, we have involved ourselves in a variety of community and rural organisations and activities that benefit our locals. These include many district dog trial clubs and local sporting events.
Cancer Society Hawke's Bay
Unfortunately cancer affects so many of us and sadly we all know someone who has battled it. Our ‘donate a lamb’ programme allows our suppliers to contribute directly to this cause, just follow the link on below or contact our Livestock Manager James Russell to request the deduction from your kill sheet. Davmet will add a contribution for every lamb donated.
Supporting rural recruitment and training is our way of contributing to the future of farming and agribusiness. Many of the participants who go through the programme have not grown up in a rural environment, so this organisation gives a pathway for urban students access to an agricultural career.
Whilst we hope you never need to use it, it’s reassuring to know the Hawke's Bay Rescue Helicopter is available in any time of need. Their service is particularly important to the isolated communities up and down the East Coast and in rural areas.
We’ve have a along and proud association with the Hawke's Bay rugby, through thick and thin, and been delighted at the success of the Magpies with their recent Ranfurly Shield tenures and consistent performances at the NPC competition level. The Davmet name has been on a first fifteen jersey since its inception.
